Les Bistrots Pas Parisiens, accompanied by Michelin-starred chef Glenn Viel, launch their brand new festive address: Bistrot Podium at 2 rue Linois, Paris 15th. The program is a total immersion in the 70s, combining chef's cuisine and disco atmosphere. Now you can eat well and party just a stone's throw from the Seine.
We're off to discover this new Parisian bistro, which promises a feast and a fiesta. Under the direction ofHakim Gaouaoui and Stéphane Rotenberg, we discover Bistrot Podium. Imagined in the spirit of a modern bistro, the establishment aims to be affordable, with a challenging quality/price ratio in a totally relaxed 70s disco atmosphere.
Strategically located a stone's throw from the Seine and the Statue of Liberty, Bistrot Podium breathes a breath of Seventies nostalgia into Paris's Left Bank. The meticulously chosen decor takes us back in time. The vintage decor, with its bright colors and twinkling lights, recalls the era of disco and the madness of the 70s. The festive atmosphere is omnipresent, and you can almost hear the disco hits ringing in your ears as soon as you enter. A DJ booth and piano in the middle of the room promise a great evening ahead. It has to be said that the location, in a commercial zone far from any habitation, lends itself to this.
Chef Glenn Viel is delighted to be part of the adventure, and has come up with a menu comprising 4 starters, 4 main courses and 4 desserts, with a few surprises in store. While some dishes can take more than a year to make it onto the menu of the Michelin-starred Oustau restaurant in Beaumanière, at Bistrot Podium, ideas flowed and the menu, he tells us, is constantly evolving and will be refined according to customer feedback.
The idea here is to offer dishes that are all reminiscent of a good time, telling us to come back and try the other dishes on the menu after being coaxed into the identity of his dish. To create his menu, the chef brought talented Executive Chef Yoanne Flament to Beaumanière for an internship, to pass on his know-how. He intends to continue investing his time and energy, and constantly reworking the menu to make it even better, he tells us.

We liked the leeks (over)baked in the oven to retain all their flavor while still melting, accompanied by a vinaigrette spiced with old-fashioned mustard, shallots, capers and a hint of citrus. You'll also fall in love with the generous onion soup, with its well-cut onions, thickened potato broth, crispy croutons and Comté cheese emulsion. And let's not forget the inevitable mimosa egg, which is paired here with the crab.
For the main course, we recommend the fish quenelles, which are a real knockout. Lightly gratinated with Parmesan cheese, served with tetragonia, spinach and langoustines in a divine sauce made from the heads of the langoustines, they're a delight. The tartare au couteau, with its well-weighed ingredients, is well seasoned and goes wonderfully well with the soft, crispy home fries. Finally, the poultry to share, cooked on a truss, melts in the mouth. Accompanied by saffron-roasted carrots or homemade mashed potatoes, it's the dish the whole family will agree on for Sunday lunch.
And let's not forget, the restaurant is open every day with continuous service. While Saturday evenings are more suitable for parties, Sunday lunchtimes are ideal for family meals. With seating for 120 to 140, the restaurant has plenty of room for large tables.
For desserts, Glenn Viel has asked for a lot of gourmandise, such as the imposing Ile flottante, topped with a thick vanilla cream. For our part, we love the brioche perdue, half-soaked to be as soft on the inside as it is crisp on the outside. Accompanied by jam, it's a perfect marriage. The pavlova, here with exotic fruits, is accompanied by cream for even more roundness.
Like a desire to celebrate without fuss while eating well? Whether you're a couple, a group of friends or a family, this is a place not to be missed. A place where the fusion of fine French cuisine and festivity takes on its full meaning. It's an invitation to rediscover a bygone era, while enjoying yourself. Why not let yourself be seduced by this unique experience in the heart of the 15th arrondissement of Paris. A word of advice? Don't forget to book, as it promises to be a great success.
