At the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, two new sports had appeared, successfully since they are still on the program this year: freestyle BMX and 3x3 basketball. In 2024, for the Paris Games, breaking will be added, for the first time in history! In just two editions, urban sports have arrived en masse, much to the delight of the younger generation.
Already Olympic events in Tokyo, sport climbing, surfing and skateboarding join breakdancing as additional sports this summer! These are demonstration sports, contested for the duration of an Olympiad, with no guarantee that they will be maintained as additional disciplines in subsequent editions, or that they will eventually become genuine Olympic sports!
If you'd like to try your hand at this and discover new sports, the capital is bursting with sports clubs and venues, so all you have to do is give it a go, and why not become the next top-level athlete to represent us at international competitions?
