Nestled in a lively street in the 18th arrondissement, Sosso Restaurant invites you to share its Mediterranean dishes on the terrace or indoors.

At Sosso Restaurant, the watchword is generosity, and it shows. The hearty, gourmet Mediterranean dishes can be enjoyed by many . The restaurant takes us on a journey, far from the 18th arrondissement. Sosso takes its name from one of the restaurant's founders, Soraya, a chef of Lebanese-Egyptian origin.

A caterer for ten years, she decided to team up with her son Olivier and his two best friends, Quentin and Tristan, to open their first restaurant in the 18th arrondissement. Their aim? To create a warm and friendly restaurant.

With its two terraces, one temporary, the other open all year round, it's a delight to sit down and share a voyage of discovery. The journey begins as soon as you enter the premises, with its warm tones, wicker chairs and lamps taking you on a journey to the Mediterranean. A table that would be at home in the busy streets of Greece or Lebanon.

On the menu, a farandole ofMediterranean dishes, land, sea or vegetable versions. At Sosso Restaurant, there are no starters, only main courses and desserts. The deliberately short menu is a mix of recipes from the Middle East, North Africa and the Western Mediterranean. The menu was devised by Soraya in collaboration with William Robitaille, founder and chef of the renowned Le Montcalm restaurant, a stone's throw away, and changes with the seasons.

Vegetarians are not left out, as the restaurant offers several meat- and fish-free dishes, such as carrots with cumin (8.5€), eggplant fries XL (11€), labneh (8€), hommos with spices (8€), and taeemyas (genuine Egyptian falafels, 9€). Seasoned with orange and preserved lemon, the carrots with cumin are served cold and sprinkled with toasted flaked almonds. With just the right amount of orange flavor, it's a light accompaniment to a meat dish.

For fans of barbaque, Sosso Restaurant offers spicy minced meat keftas, chich taouk (9.5€) - marinated chicken breast grilled a la plancha -, sawdat djej ( 10€) - pan-fried chicken liver on shiso leaf - and a plate of confit leeks and merguez (11€). Generously served, the chich taouk chicken is tender and well-marinated, and is happily dipped in the garlic sauce, the mixture of the two being delicious.

On the fish side, Sosso Restaurant 's menu offers just one plate at the moment, a citrus tartare of saithe (13€). Very generously served, it's ideal for sharing with one or two people.

Big eaters with room to spare have three options for dessert: homemade tiramisu, baklava cheesecake and Greek yoghurt with honey and zaatar. Don't be taken aback by the generous size of the tiramisu (6€), which is light and airy, and finishes the meal on a sweet note, without making you feel guilty!
