This year, the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah runs from December 7 to 15, and as every year, the French Loubavitch movement is setting up numerous Hanukkiah lightings all over France. And Essonne is no exception. For the Jews of France, Hanukkah week is a special time to celebrate the miracle of lights, give presents to one another, and enjoy doughnuts, latkes and other traditional pastries.
It's an opportunity for all Essonne Jews to get together and celebrate Hanukkah in the different towns of the department where public lighting is organized. Of course, these celebrations are open to all, free of charge, whether you're Jewish or not.
