Now based in theBonjour Bichat food court after years on the Butte Montmartre, Riv'K 's new venture offers street-food versions ofLevantine cuisine . In the kitchen, chef Rebecca Rohmer, who has worked with Christian Constant and Cyril Lignac, continues to create recipes that draw on her own roots and memories.
Before discovering Riv'K's unmissable French toast , which has made the company's reputation among sweet tooths for many years, let's move on to the savoury side ! Riv'K now offers 4 recipes for French toast-style sandwiches, like the French toast version of fricassé (13.20€), generously topped with spicy chakchouka, tuna belrèche, soft-boiled egg, olives, candied Beldi lemons and harissa to spice things up. A sandwich packed with flavour.
Also worth trying are the smoked beef (16€) with smoked beef brisket, cucumber salad and gribiche mayonnaise; the veggie (11.50€), with grilled eggplant, tahini, hummus, coleslaw, cucumber and zhoug; and the salmon (13.20€) with avocado, beldi lemon labne, smoked salmon and soft-boiled egg.
Of course, as we mentioned earlier, you can't leave Riv' K without trying the chef's famous pain perdus, available here in a frutti version (11.95€) with caramelized butter and seasonal fruit compote; black version (11.95€) with homemade black sesame spread; pistachios version (11.95€) with orange blossom, pistachio cream and orange zest; and praline version (11.95€) with praline, halva and sesame spread.
Riv'K remains one of Paris's finest addresses. While the previous restaurant was the home of a certain Jean-Pierre Jeunet, director of Amélie Poulain's Fabulous Destiny, we have no doubt that this Riv'K 2.0, with its street-food accents, will attract more than one person!
