Julo is the name of a new patisserie opened by 3 talented pastry chefs in Paris's 10th arrondissement. We take you on a discovery tour.

Julo is the name of the patisserie that opened its doors at 52 rue de Lancry in the 10th arrondissement. At the helm are 3 reconverted partners who met on the benches of Ferrandi: Isabelle, Charles and Anne-Sophie. While Charles and Anne-Sophie took their CAPs to work on commissioned artisanal pastries, Isabelle trained in the laboratory and went on to take her chocolate CAP as a bonus. A year and a half ago, they decided to launch a joint business. Freshly opened, it's time to try it out.

Julo is, in a way, the image of a popular patisserie that wants to be a little more quali. They chose this Parisian street, ideal for their target market. In this patisserie, you'll find classic creations, revisited by the 3 partners. The emphasis is on good products, like the vanilla in the Parisian flan, which smells of Tahitian vanilla. The house uses seasonal, short-lived products. The tarts are adapted to the fruits of the moment.

The patisserie also offers chocolate bars from the Cluizel chocolate factory. A company chosen for its ethics and the quality of its products.

Julo also offers a small range of viennoiseries that are a little different from what you'll find elsewhere. As we pass by, we discover a square apple turnover with homemade seasonal fruit compote. There's also a popular buckwheat kouign amann, a fig puff pastry and a chocolate puff pastry.

The pastries on offer included Maya, a Mexican chocolate entremets on a crisp bed, La Marguerite in a lemon tart, the regressiveAnimata with caramel, vanilla and a regressive peanut praline, and Antonin in a creamy, well-vanillaized custard flan. The tart of the moment was blueberry, just like the turnover of the day. Of course, there's always room for the indisputable Paris-Brest .
