Just a few minutes and a few steps from the Parvis du Sacré-cœur, you 'll find the charming Terrass "Hotel. Edmond, the hotel's panoramic restaurant, serves traditional French cuisine, but also revisits classics from other countries. Le Jardin perché, the Terrass " Hotel's outdoor terrace, offers an idyllic setting in fine weather for lunch or dinner, with a summery decor and a magnificent view of Paris. The name of the restaurant Edmond comes from the first name of the creator of the Terrass "Hotel, founded in 1909.
The restaurant is divided into two parts: an elegantly and soberly decorated interior with a view over the whole capital, and an exterior part, the Jardin perché, transformed this year into a bucolic garden. In a fresh, colorful bohemian decor, you can enjoy lunch in the sun with a feeling of being suspended in the air. On one of the terrace walls, a monumental 6-metre fresco by artist Natacha Birds catches the eye. Comfortably seated, you can make out the most beautiful monuments in Paris: the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Palais, the Invalides, the Panthéon and more. A breathtaking view.
Restaurant Edmond 's specialty is a selection of raw fish offered in a multi-level tasting format, for two people. The restaurant's menu emphasizes different cooking techniques and draws inspiration from world cuisine. So you'll find raw starters, a la plancha dishes, simmered dishes, Italian"al dente " dishes and sweet choices to round off the meal.
We started with the sea bream ceviche and shrimp carpaccio. The starters are beautifully served and colorful, in keeping with the decor of the Jardin perché. The sea bream ceviche, served with a lemon sauce and pink onions from Brittany, is very well seasoned, but our attention was caught by the shrimp carpaccio. Cut very finely, the shrimp take the form of a large raw shrimp patty. The texture is very interesting and unusual. The iodized taste comes later, allowing you to appreciate first thefresh, light seasoning and then the taste of the sea. A starter well worth the detour.
When it comes to dishes, there are several options to choose from: a la plancha, simmered or al dente. A la plancha and simmered dishes feature meat or fish, and vegetarian options are offered in al dente dishes. The organic black angus beef fillet is served with a ginger/sauce sauce, pommes grenailles and sucrine with herbs. The meat is top-quality and the sauce delicious, adding Asian flavors to the dish. On the stew side, the Tikka-style organic Vendée chicken with naans, yoghurt sauce, mint, coriander and a zaalouk (eggplant caviar) accompaniment is gourmet. The tender chicken goes perfectly well with the yoghurt, mint and coriander sauce, which is added to the dish as desired.
To end on a sweet note, the restaurant offers its signature dessert and other options. The signature dessert,"La Cabosse", is made with Nicolas Berger Chocolate, Peru 65%. Housed in a cocoa bean shell, the dessert is made entirely of fairly bitter, strong dark chocolate, presented in several layers with different textures. For lovers of chocolate, and particularly dark chocolate, it's a must-have! For the rest of us,"La vanille grillée" is lighter, but just as delicious, with an intense creamy base, roasted praline and vanilla caviar.
The panoramic Edmondrestaurant offers a real interlude in time, suspended above Paris, with quality products and generous plates.
Edmond can be discovered on the Jardin Perché, the terrace of the Terrass "Hotel at 12-14 Rue Joseph de Maistre, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
