For a tasty Italian cuisine, we take the direction of Popine, restaurant which opened a new address in Pigalle, rue Dancourt, and which proposes you a menu with surprising Mediterranean flavours, among which numerous pizzas as light as delicious!
A beautiful address with a very evocative name... And for good reason: popine comes from the Latin "popina" which means "tavern, cabaret", the Italian form of "coquina", the kitchen or kitchen of a gargote. At Popine, we eat antipasti, but mostly pizzas, and there are quite a lot of them: Margharita, Marinara, Napoli, Diavola, Prosciutto e Funghi and other Capricciosa for the classics, but also Primavera, Tartuffo or Mortadella e Pistacchio for pizzas that are a bit more extravagant!
An address that the editorial staff was able to test... Our group was tempted by several appetizers: smoked ricotta, a board of bresaola, a board of Parma ham and eggplant parmiggiana. We particularly liked the parmiggiana, tasty and well executed. Then comes the turn of the pizzas: the Primavera, the Prosciutto e Funghi, the Mortadella e Pistacchio and the Bresaola.
All pizzas are delicious, with a particularly light dough, which does not weigh down the stomach. Special mention to the Primavera, with its surprising flavors and cherry tomato jam. Probably the best pizza on the menu! To finish on a sweet touch, we opted for several pana cotta (pistachio - absolutely divine - nocciolata and red fruits), as well as the tiramisu. A delight! Note that you can also be tempted, if you have a very good appetite, by the pizzete with nocciolata... But you really have to be greedy.
In any case, Popine is a beautiful address in the neighborhood that we can only recommend if you pass by. And who knows, maybe you'll want to come back to the other restaurants of the house... To your forks!
