• The Olympic record for the marathon distance was broken this morning by Ethiopian Tamirat Tola, who completed the course in just 2 hours 06 minutes and 26 seconds. The first Frenchman, Nicolas Navarro, finished 16th, 3 minutes 30 seconds ahead of the new Olympic champion.

• After five madcap matches that had the world's table tennis players (and those who knew nothing about it last week) on the edge of their seats, the Lebrun brothers and Simon Gauzy won a well-deserved bronze medal.
• American skateboarder Nyjah Huston criticized the quality of the bronze medals, which seem to be deteriorating, after wearing it shirtless for several hours. He seems to have forgotten that bronze is a metal that quickly oxidizes when it comes into contact with... perspiration in particular.
• Will Snoop Dogg end his Games with a show at the Closing Ceremony? At least, that's what the American media have announced, alongside Billie Eilish and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

• It was a bad day for the French judokas. For the first time since the start of the Olympic Games in Paris, the French judo team failed to win a single medal. On Thursday, Aurélien Diesse and Madeleine Malonga were unfortunately eliminated at the Arena Champ-de-Mars.
  
  
• He is the man of the day. Aurélien Quinion finished 9th in the men's 20 km walk this morning, just hours after the birth of his daughter at the maternity hospital in Eaubonne, Val-d'Oise. To finish in the Top 10 of the competition after only 30 minutes' sleep, that was something to behold. Congratulations to the happy father!
  
  
• Cock-a-doodle-doo! French table tennis player Félix Lebrun beat Taiwanese Lin Yun-Ju in the quarters (4-3). He remains France's only Olympic hope in table tennis. Thanks to this victory in the quarters, Félix Lebrun is also the first Frenchman to reach the semi-finals, after Jean-Philippe Gatien in 1992 at the Barcelona Olympic Games.
  
  
• When a French basketball player supports the French equestrian team, you get this photo! On his social networks, basketball player Evan Fournier took to the stage to watch Julien Epaillard and his mare Dubai du Cèdre compete in the show jumping competition.

• The men's triathlon has finally been cancelled due to pollution in the Seine. The men's race has been postponed to July 31 at 10:45 a.m., just after the women's race. The two triathlon training sessions had also been cancelled due to the poor quality of the river water.
  
  
• The team artistic gymnastics finals at the Arena Bercy were once again well attended. Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman, Serena Williams and Spike Lee were among those spotted in the stands on Tuesday.
  
  
• BMX freestyle was in the spotlight on Tuesday July 30 at the Place de la Concorde. And the show was on, with some incredibly stunning tricks!

• In terms of French victories, the harvest was less fruitful than the day before. But we can still applaud the French epeeists, who won silver in the team final against Italy. Judoka Clarisse Agbégnénou, who was aiming for gold, came away with a bronze medal.
  
  
• In other news, France's Anthony Jeanjean has qualified for the BMX freestyle final scheduled for July 31, while Marjorie Delassus will compete in the canoe slalom semi-finals, also scheduled for Wednesday.

• Still notraining for the Seinetriathlon, cancelled for the second time. Still no crocodile in sight, but water quality decidedly too degraded by the heavy rains of recent days.
  
  
• You may have spotted Antoine Griezmann in the stands of the show jumping event at the Château de Versailles. Our national Grizou is not hiding his joy at the medals won by the French athletes, whom he congratulates one by one on his Twitter account.

• And God knows there were a lot of victories today! France was on top form from morning till night, picking up no fewer than 8 new medals: a silver medal for the French equestrian team in eventing; a breathtaking silver medal for Victor Koretzky in cross-country mountain biking; a silver medal for the French men's archery team; a silver medal for Joan-Benjamin Gaba in judo (-73kg); a bronze medal for young Sarah-Léonie Cysique in judo (-57kg); a sublime gold medal for Nicolas Gestin in canoe slalom; and a gold and silver medal in women's sabre, won respectively by Manon Apithy-Brunet and Sara Balzer. In three days of competition, France has already won 16 medals!

• Moldovan judoka Adil Osmanov's unlikely injury while celebrating his bronze medal.

• The 100% French women's sabre final, which brought out the blue, white and red in us all.
